Mark 3:13-15, “Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. 14 He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that 15 he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.” Jesus called them to be with Him so he might train them, and then sent them out to win souls for the kingdom and turn them into disciples, like themselves. He chose 12 disciples, who in turn won new converts and turned them into disciples. So, the cycle of multiplication is meant to continue ad infinitum
