How To Receive A Miracle Without Praying – Rev Olufemi Oyelade

Text: John 2:1-11

“His mother said to the servants, whatever He says to you, do it” (John 2:5)

A miracle is a divine intervention in the affairs of man, which over-rules natural laws. Receiving a miracle from God can come about in two ways:

  • In response to your prayer
  • In response to your obedience to His word

In our text, Mary the mother of Jesus “prayed” to Jesus, asking for wine. She then told the servants the key to the miracle – their obedience (v5). The miracle came about when they acted in obedience. Praying to God is a good thing, but much more, He desires your obedience to His word after you have prayed.

Basically, we come to God in prayer to:

* Worship

* Receive a word from Him

The word we receive from Him is a compass, bridge and anchor.

It is the Word that will:

  • Guide you/give you direction, and
  • Sustain you in times of crises

We can receive:

(a) A word from the Lord (through the Holy Spirit) or

 (b) A word of God (through the scripture)

Whichever one He gives you, as soon as you receive it, please obey-promptly, completely and continually.

You need God’s Word

  • At the commencement of any endeavour!

Mark 4:35-41 tells about the disciples going out at Jesus’ instruction. Yet, they experienced a fierce storm on their way. This shows that following God’s instruction does not mean there will be no storm, but as in verse 39b, He alone can speak to the storm and bring about a great calm.

  • You also need His word in order to continue (or sometimes discontinue) the endeavour/project.
  • Lastly, His word is needed to conclude.

What word has God given you?

Are you obeying it promptly, completely and continually?

Note that living the Word makes you to live a Supernatural Life Of Miracles, Signs and Wonders. Obey His word always; It works!
