Seated in Christ Rev Olufemi Oyelade

Text: Ephesians 1:15-23, Ephesians 2:1-6

“But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4 – 6 (NLT)

As a believer, your hope is not limited to this world, for you have hope of reigning with Christ in heaven.
Paul, in our text, prayed for the Church, i.e every believer, that:
* They will have wisdom and revelation to know who God is.
* They will have an understanding of the implication of their salvation
* They will know that the God they are serving has exceeding great power

In verses 21 and 22, we see that God sat Jesus far above principalities, power, might and dominion, and put all things under His feet.

All the things which God put under the feet of Christ are automatically placed under the feet of the Church (i.e you) because the Church is the body of Christ, while Christ is the head!
You are also seated with Jesus in heavenly places as well. (Ephesians 2:6).

* Your position: is a sitting position – to divide the spoils of war.
* Your location: is in heavenly places

IMPLICATIONS
1. You are seated above sin (I John 3:5)
2. You are seated far above sickness (powers, might, dominion)
3. Seated above lack

Therefore, these things do not have a place in your life. Begin to walk in the consciousness of this truth, and your life will never remain the same again.
